On Wednesday 14th June, eight of our Year 5 children had the pleasure of attending the stunning new Lee Valley Ice Centre’s press event, ahead of its official opening day on Saturday 17th June 2023. For some, it was their first time experiencing the enjoyable and memorable experience.
Supervised by qualified instructors and staff members, the children put on their skating shoes and headed onto the ice for their hour long skating lesson. Many children were able to skate for the first time, with some even venturing out onto the ice without the aid of the rink’s support bars.
The accompanying Orchard staff beamed with pride as they watched the children gain confidence and improve their skating abilities throughout the session.
One of the children mentioned, “This was my first time ice skating and I cannot wait to come again!”
Overall, the session was a wonderful success, and the rink looks forward to opening to the public in a few days’ time.
