At John Scurr Primary School, our Debate Mates took part in Round 1 of the Primary Urban Debate League, competing in two debates against other schools, and winning both! The unprepared motions were, “This House Should Ban Junk Food for Under 11s” and “This House Believes Everyone Should Read One Book a Month.” With just 15 minutes to prepare, our pupils delivered well-structured speeches, used ambitious vocabulary and demonstrated excellent debating skills. Well done for their fantastic achievement!
