Our peer mediators went to Hoxton Garden for training on emotion coaching and a refresher in playground games. They learnt new games, ‘Through the hoop’ and ‘Drop it, catch it’, which they have since been facilitating in the playground with other children. They were also taught about emotion coaching, the importance of emotions and different ways of helping children who are experience different emotions in the playground; the children should identify, validate and empathize the emotion being felt.
