Orchard makes its debut in the Urban Debate League

The Year 5 Debate Mate members took part in their first debating competition as part of the Urban Debate League. They had the opportunity to debate with teams from other local schools, with motions including ‘This house would ban keeping pets’. The children have been learning debating skills as part of the after school club and this was their first chance to use those skills outside of the club. They did fantastically well and won 4 out of the 6 debates entered. We will find out the ranking of Orchard Primary in relation to other schools from across the country in the coming weeks. Well done to all of the children involved!
