Orchard was delighted to have the honour of hosting the launch of the Hackney Sustainability Education Framework this week. Leaders and teachers from primary schools across Hackney, alongside colleagues from Hackney Education, gathered at Orchard to learn more about this exciting framework and its vision for embedding sustainability across schools.

Guests also had the opportunity to take part in an activity in Orchard’s outdoor classroom, experiencing first-hand how our outdoor learning spaces support sustainability education. Members of our Eco-Team were incredibly articulate as they shared their knowledge, passion and learning around sustainability, including our valued gardening curriculum.

Following the event, one attendee shared this wonderful reflection: “Listening to your delightful pupils speak about their learning and experiences really showcased how you ensure that sustainability is a lived value throughout the school.”
