Year 1 travelled back in time at the Museum of the Home. They explored the changes through the centuries and noticed how Victorians used carpet beaters instead of vacuum cleaners! 

Orchard Summer 2 Parent Dates 2024

KS2 enjoyed their sunny ride out to Mile End Park this week, catching the summer breeze. 

Huge congratulations to our winner for the prestigious Hackney Mayor's Music Award. This was presented by Hackney Council speaker, Sheila Suso-Runge, awarded to pupils who show an aptitude for music.

Year 3 became IT geniuses using Google sheets. They used this to create a table of data which they turned into a chart. They loved seeing the different ways data…

Year 4 travelled back in time to the Victorian era at the Ragged School Museum. They learnt about the three R's: reading, writing and arithmetic and how children were punished…

EYFS visited their local farm to say hello to all the animals there, which included the ducks, chickens, donkeys and llamas. They also hand fed all the different animals! 

Year 2 have been learning how to draw 3D forms in Art. They researched clay relief tiles and animals and sketched their designs to life.

EYFS became farmers, producing their own butter! They poured cream into jars and added marbles, and shook all the ingredients together. They then wrote down their homemade butter recipe.

A huge thank you to all of the grandparents and grown-ups who came to our grandparents tea party to celebrate Families' Week.

During Families' Week, EYFS used natural materials to create their own family portraits. They then applied their phonics knowledge to label their family members.
