Mayan Life

In Year 5, we were very fortunate to have a workshop delivered, where we looked at Mayan food and Mayan culture. We then, using corn and corn meal, made tortilla wraps as the Mayans would have done, and a salsa to go with it. To do this, we used vegetables that the Mayans would have grown.  We learnt about the importance of maize, and also why cacao was so important and the uses that it had in Mayan times – they even used it for medicine!
