In their first Debate Mate session, pupils played an introduction game called “I Will Be Remembered in History By…”and discussed the importance of equity, diversity, and inclusion. They shared their reasons for joining Debate Mate, including using their voices, expressing opinions confidently, thinking critically, and supporting ideas with evidence. Their mentor, Valeria, introduced key debating skills and guided them through their first practice debate. It was a great start to their Debate Mate journey.
