Day 4 – Turing Tenerife Trip March 2025

Today, pupils explored the breathtaking El Teide National Park and saw Tenerife’s iconic volcano up close—and it didn’t disappoint! Our first stop was a dramatic mountain viewpoint. Despite cloudy weather, pupils felt as though they were floating above the clouds and were fascinated by the volcanic rock formations. As we climbed higher, ears popped and excitement grew as we got our first glimpse of El Teide volcano.  At the El Teide Visitors Centre, pupils discovered more about the volcano’s history, wildlife and landscapes. In the museum gardens, they filmed each other speaking in Spanish about what they’d learned—footage that will feature in their final project. A favourite moment? Spotting lagartos (lizards) darting between the rocks and trying to snap a photo before…

At the El Teide Visitors Centre, pupils discovered more about the volcano’s history, wildlife and landscapes. In the museum gardens, they filmed each other speaking in Spanish about what they’d learned—footage that will feature in their final project. A favourite moment? Spotting lagartos (lizards) darting between the rocks and trying to snap a photo before they disappeared!

Our final stop offered a panoramic view of the volcano in all its glory—a stunning setting for reflection and a relaxed picnic lunch. “Seeing the volcano has been a once in a lifetime experience!” said Elijah, perfectly capturing the awe of the day.

Back at the hotel, pupils enjoyed some well-earned pool time before dinner. It’s been heartwarming to see friendships blossom and the group working as a team to support one another.

As pupils wound down for the evening, Louria shared, “I’ve loved the trip so far. I really want to stay, but I’m also looking forward to going home, seeing my family and telling them all about it.” A definite sign of a memorable and meaningful adventure.

With bags packed and diaries brimming with thoughtful reflections, we’re ready for our long-awaited beach day tomorrow—looking forward to a refreshing dip in the sea and a well-deserved ice cream in the sunshine to celebrate the end of a truly unforgettable trip.
