Day 2 – Turing Tenerife Trip March 2025

Hola from Tenerife! Our pupils had a fantastic first full day on the island, diving straight into life at our partner school. After a hearty breakfast, excitement was high as they explored the school grounds—from a vibrant aviary of Canarian birds to an impressive climbing wall and spacious playground. Language was no barrier to new friendships, with pupils confidently communicating in both Spanish and English during games like el quemado (Spanish dodgeball) and breaktimes. Throughout the morning, pupils were fully immersed in Spanish school life, taking part in a variety of lessons including las matemáticas, el inglés (English) and la música. It was wonderful to see them so engaged and eager to participate, making the most of every opportunity to practise their Spanish in real contexts.…

In the afternoon, we enjoyed a scenic walk along the Puerto de la Cruz promenade, followed by a delicious lunch—la pizza was a big hit! Staff at the restaurant praised the pupils’ impeccable manners and Spanish-speaking efforts. The day wrapped up with some souvenir shopping and time to explore the beautiful hotel grounds, nestled among mountains and exotic local flora. A truly enriching and energetic start to our Tenerife adventure!
