Friends of Orchard (FOO)

Friends of Orchard is an organisation of parents, carers and staff.

It’s role is to encourage closer links between home, school and the community. FOO raise money through events.

We aim to hold one main event each term and we are always looking for fundraising ideas.

We hold meetings every fortnight on a Friday after Parent Reading and welcome any new members who would like to attend.

The votes for the elections of the core FOO team have all been counted and verified as follows:

School Representative Emily Douglas
Chair Anthea Phillips
Co Vice Chair Carletta Gordon & Kay Richardson
Secretary Fiona McAuslan
Treasure Nikki Lakin

FOO Annual General Meeting (AGM)

FOO has had a successful AGM on Friday 29th January. It was a great opportunity for us to celebrate our achievements so far. We were positively overwhelmed by some of the new ideas from parents and carers from the community for future projects, and ways in which we as FOO should invest the money back into the school to enrich children’s learning. Current and new members also had the opportunity to vote themselves for the following roles: Chair. Vice Chair (x2), Secretary, Treasurer & Committee members.

FOO has had our most successful event to date raising a total of £854.99 at the Winter Fayre! There were a range of activities for parents and pupils to enjoy expanding across the two halls ranging from; the coconut shy, Santa’s Grotto, pom pom making, face painting & biscuit decorating. The school choir provided entertainment with Christmas sing-a-long and guitar performances. To add to all the festivities the school community enjoyed a complimentary buffet courtesy of FOO, mulled wine made by one of our very own parents, candy floss and popcorn! Thank you to everyone who volunteered, came and supported our event.
